When pouring the water onto the leaves, it must never actually be boiling, but if the water does boil, let it cool a few minutes before pouring. The tea will be better and the bowl will be safer. also, I usually pre-heat my bowls and mugs before pouring. I have many other bowls here at the studio and gallery.
